CyberKnife of Texas makes advanced robotic, image-guided technology available for patients in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana, providing new hope for tumor treatment. It is the first unit available in East Texas.
Tumors virtually anywhere in the body can now be treated with radiation treatments that offer submillimeter accuracy. The CyberKnife can pinpoint tumors in spots that are hard to reach by other systems, and it differs from other stereotactic radiosurgery systems. Because of its guidance capabilities which correct for patient movement, head and body frames are not required.
Located at the Cancer Institute on the ETMC Tyler campus in Tyler, TX, CyberKnife of Texas represents a collaborative effort between Tyler Neurosurgical Associates and the ETMC Regional Healthcare System.
A proven success
CyberKnife has been used extensively for tumor treatment:
• More than 20,000 patients treated worldwide
• More than 160 clinical and technical papers on CyberKnife technology
• More than 160 medical centers worldwide use the system
